THE LONDON EYE

By Ana Laura Alcántara González

The London Eye is a giant Ferris wheel. It is situated on the banks of the River Thames, in London, England. The structure is 135 meters tall and the wheel has a diameter of 120 meters

This place is an excellent attraction in London where you want to see more about England and all its beautiful places and art.

The London Eye is the tallest Ferris wheel in Europe, and the most popular. It is very visited by over 3.5 million people "the world's tallest cantilevered observation wheel".

The London Eye was officially called the British Airways London but since 20 January 2011 its official name is the EDF Energy London Eye following a three-year sponsorship deal. A long time this place changes according to the in a condition of the place, but It doesn’t change its aspect. I recommend it because is an incredible and wonderful place.

The London Eye was formally opened by the then Prime Minister, Tony Blair, on 31 December 1999, although it was not opened to the public until 9 March 2000 because of technical problems, Since 1 January 2005, the Eye has been the focal point of London's New Year celebrations. I think that is a great experience, where you will look all London since the height.

On 12 August 2009 the London Eye saw another re-brand, this time calling it "The Merlin Entertainments London Eye" where show Merlin Entertainments' ownership. A new logo was designed for the attraction this time taking the actual form of an eye made out of London's famous landmarks.

Imagine in this moment that you are in London eye and you can see everything and a wonderful landscape.

This place can be use for an special occasion.
